The case note of Sophia below, provides an example of how Assim Ishaque has used THOUGHT FIELD THERAPY to manage her anger. Client name has been changed to respect her privacy.

THOUGHT FIELD THERAPY CASE NOTE - Sophia’s story

Sophia had a short fuse. She is a busy and stressed mother of three who would loose her temper over the smallest thing. Her children and partner all bore the brunt of her bad moods. After getting angry, Sophia would realise that she was in the wrong. This realisation caused her further upset and stress. She felt out of control.

Through careful questioning and a short TFT session, Sophia felt more relaxed and calm. In a follow up session, she explained that she would no longer get angry over things that had bothered her in the past.

This did not mean that she allowed bad behaviour from her children (or husband!) but that she was able to deal with situations in a calm and collective manner. Sophia's relationship with her family improved dramatically as they no longer feared her wrath.

When she did feel angry she was in much greater control of her emotions and a happier person overall.
